Weekdays 09:30 - 17:00
There’s not long to go until the Health Plus Care event takes place on 27 and 28 June. As the official charity partner of the event, we’ll be exhibiting on the day and bringing a patient-focused perspective to proceedings. We are also looking for members of the public who have acquired a healthcare associated infection (HCAI) to share their experiences at the event.
A HCAI can develop either as a direct result of healthcare interventions such as medical or surgical treatment, or from being in contact with a healthcare setting. If you have acquired one of these infections in the last few years or know anyone who has, please share your experiences with us by completing this short survey by Friday 22 June.
Patients and members of the public are invited to share their views on online GP consultations. These online consultations are a way for patients to use the internet to contact their GP practice without having to wait on the phone or take time out to come into the practice. Using a smartphone, tablet or computer, patients can contact their practice about a new problem or an ongoing issue.
Your responses to this survey will help to determine the most appropriate support and resources needed for both patients and practices to adopt online consultations as an enhancement to currently available online services. You can give your views by completing this short survey by Friday 15 June 2018. More information can be found here.
According to new research, moderate muscle contractions release hormones, stimulating our organs and immune system. Certain types of movement stimulate the brain as well as the body, and can encourage and enhance the healing process. This means we can help to treat different illnesses by prescribing medical dance sessions. Would you be interested in trying medical dance sessions?
Share your views by completing this short survey – it should take no longer than five minutes to complete. Submit your views before 22 June.
The Royal College of General Practice (RCGP), the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine and Public Health England, supported by the British Association of Sports & Exercise Medicine, are kicking off an exciting new initiative and need volunteers to help review and critique material collected. ‘Moving Medicine’ is an interactive web-based tool providing advice on physical activity across a range of diseases, which will be freely available once launched. There will be 11 modules and the RCGP physical activity team are leading a module focused on physical activity on the prevention of disease.
To ensure the materials are credible, user-friendly and effective, a willing group of volunteer users is sought to review the materials the team has collated, and to inform the final version of the resource. A workshop of healthcare professionals and patient representatives is behind held on 29 June at RCGP, London and volunteers are invited to attend. Travel expenses and refreshments will be provided. You can find out more and register your interest by emailing [email protected].
