Care Quality Commission (CQC) has launched a campaign to encourage people to share their experiences of care in England.

Share for Better Care is being led by CQC and Healthwatch England. It's supported by us and other partners including the Race Equality Foundation, National Dignity Council, Royal Association for Deaf people, National Voices, the Challenging Behaviour Foundation, VoiceAbility and Disability Rights UK.

CQC is concerned that it’s not hearing from certain groups, especially groups that include people who are more likely to experience poorer care and inequalities than the general population.

Share For Better Care is for everyone but it’s encouraging people from seldom-heard communities to speak up about their experiences, including people from:

  • Minority ethnic communities
  • Lower-income communities
  • Autistic people and people with a learning disability
  • Disabled people with physical or sensory impairments.

CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. Its role is to make sure health and social care services provide safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourages care services to improve. It uses what it hears about people’s experiences of health and social to keep track of the quality of care that services provide.

If you want to share your experience, you can contact CQC directly here.

Alternatively, you can ring our free helpline 0800 345 7115 and one of the team will help you to share your experiences of care.
